What to Pack for a 3-Day Bus Trip: JONAH Lancaster Checklist

Packing for a 3-day bus trip is different from packing for a flight — you have generous luggage space under the bus, but you'll live out of a small bag during the day. Here's the checklist we give our JONAH Lancaster travelers (September 21–23, 2027).

The day bag (stays with you on the bus)

  • Light jacket or sweater — theaters and buses run cold with A/C.
  • Snacks and a refillable water bottle.
  • Phone charger / power bank, book or headphones for the ride.
  • Sunglasses and any daily medications.

The overnight bag (2 nights in Lancaster)

  • Comfortable clothes for 3 days — think layers for September weather.
  • Walking shoes: you'll explore Lancaster County and the theatre campus.
  • One slightly nicer outfit if you like dressing up for the show (optional — most people go smart-casual).
  • Toiletries and anything you need for 2 hotel nights.

What NOT to bring

  • Big coolers or bulky gear — space is shared.
  • Valuables you don't need; the bus is secure, but travel light.
